I consider myself fortunate to have been able to train and educate those who attended my seminars. Those that have not yet joined often know me from my “The Knowledge” articles as published in the International Cranes & Specialized Transport magazine or from publications in the Project Cargo Network magazine or in the Heavy Haulers magazine or from my book The Art of Heavy Transport but are not always aware of my full scope of services.
Any of the below buttons will lead you to the respective offered services.
If you have ever asked yourself any of the below questions, you should attend my seminar.
Many companies affiliated with the Heavy Transport and Lift industry, wether they are equipment owners or manufacturers or insurance companies or fabricators, face the same challenge in this day and age;
– how to get senior staff up to date on the latest developments
– how to train new employees on the understanding and use of equipment
– we want to expand but we don’t quite have the knowledge
– how to make or interpret a transport/lift plan
– how to select the right transporter or SPMT for the load
– how do I improve safety and communication in my organization
– how to quickly estimate the forces in the lifting slings
– what is the difference between a spreader and lifting beam
– what is a Center of Gravity and how do I determine this
– what is transporter stability and how do I ensure I am on the safe side
– which suspension setting do I select and why
– how to make or interpret a transport/lift plan
– how to ensure a barge is suitable for a load-out / load-in
– how to estimate ground pressures under transporters and cranes.
– what are Newtons, Kilograms and Tons and when do I use them
– how do I stay in control of forces that play a role in a lift / transport
– how do I calculate saddle loads
– how to avoid and prevent accidents / incidents / near misses
This “how to..” list of questions can go on and on and often includes questions on hydraulic gantries, transporter configuration, crane selection, strand jacks, tailing methods, how to deal with tidal changes during a load-out… etc. The services that I offer answer these questions and more.
The seminars cover every topic concerning a Heavy Transport or lift, from single crane lift to multiple crane lift to single transporter to multiple transporters with multiple operators to barge selection for load-outs to alternative ways of lifting (strand jacks, tower systems, gantries or a combination) to turn table use and much more.
The book The Art of Heavy Transport is the only Heavy Transport book in existence and can be used as a reference guide and engineering base for all heavy transports.
Besides the seminars, speaking engagements and books I offer accident investigation and expert witness services. Unfortunately this is an area that is still in higher demand than I would like to see. Something went wrong and now it is time for answers to find out what happened and how this can be prevented from happening again. By attending my seminar, the need for accident investigation, can be greatly reduced.
The reference card a great aid in making sure nothing is forgotten or overlooked during the preparation and execution of a transport project. It gives you that little extra knowledge that comes in handy when site conditions change…. and they always do.
The “The Knowledge” articles that I write and have written for International Cranes and Specialized Transport provide the reader with knowledge that contributes to a well executed and safe project performance.
