On 21 and 22 of August I held a seminar in Sofia, Bulgaria for the association of heavy truckers and crane owners (locally called NSPIT).
The seminar was initiated by Mr. Mladen Ganchev, the Chairman of the Board of the NSPIT association.
A truly great guy to work with.
The crowd was a joy, many questions that made much sense in their day-to-day operations.
A representative of a local logistics magazine passed by for some pictures and an article.
I couldn’t make much of this so I had Google translate this for me.
Here is the unedited translation.
The intricacies of heavy goods transport
How to correctly load, secure, transport and unload super-heavy loads without accidents and damage. The world-renowned specialist Marco van Daal, on a two-day seminar organized by the National Overseas Carrier Association, took a close look at the subject. The lecturer is one of the top professionals in the industry and has many years of experience in this field.
He vividly and clearly examined the topic in great detail, giving a lot of illustrative examples of video material in this regard. At first, he addressed the physical and mathematical laws that are used to calculate the correct load location for this type of transport. He then examined in detail the specialized transport used in the transport of heavy loads. Special attention was paid to the proper grip, lifting and positioning of super-heavy and oversized loads on wheeled platforms and barges and their good strengthening.
Separately, the specificities of oversized cargoes were considered.
In the final part, emphasis was placed on the incidents that may arise and how to avoid them. Attention was also paid to the maintenance of the equipment.
You can read more about the seminar in the next issue of LOGISTICS magazine.
Needless to say that I was really pleased with this article.
